SILVA IBAÑEZ ADVISES BENCHMARK HOLDINGS PLC ON ITS PLAN TO SET UP A WHOLLY OWNED SALMON BREEDING OPERATION IN CHILE.

Silva Ibanez Abogados (“SIA”) is advising Benchmark Holdings plc (“Benchmark”), an English company leader in the aquaculture health, nutrition and genetics business, on its plan to set up and operate a wholly owned salmon breeding operation in Chile. To that end, SIA represented Benchmark in the termination of its joint venture with AquaChile, which entailed the termination of the shareholders agreement, the sale to AquaChile of its 49% stake in the JV company, and the transfer to Benchmark of the intellectual property rights, genetic stock and biomass held by the joint venture. Following the termination of the joint venture, the former partners are now negotiating the acquisition of a salmon breeding facility by Benchmark.
